Seek First The Kingdom of God
TOPIC: First Things First
SCRIPTURE: Matthew 6:33 - “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”
WHAT?
- First things first - Seek the Will of God in everything that You do. Make
- Make Him your priority above every other things that demands your attention
- “In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.” - Proverbs 3:6 NKJV
WHY?
- If you put God first in your thoughts, your finances, in your work, your decisions, your plans, your conversations and in everything that you do, you will have REAL peace, you will enjoy the joy of His presence, you will live a life of purpose and your life will be a success.
HOW?
- First Things First - train yourself to start each each day by spending quality intentional time with God, in worship, in His word (the bible) and in prayer. (Even if means setting your alarm earlier than usual).
- Plan your day with Him during Your time with Him in the morning. Ask Him what His will for your life is for that day. Then be still in His presence and LISTEN out to what He will instruct You. He can either speak to you through His still small voice or direct you to His word in the bible.
- As you go through your day, acknowledge Him in everything you do. When at work, school or out and about, stop for a while in whatever your are doing and just thank Him (whether our loud or in your heart). (This can be even during even lunch time).
- Make Him your priority ABOVE every other thing that demands your attention.
- Live in the consciousness of His presence with you at all times. This way, you are able to remember Him in all you do.
- Before making a decision on anything, ask Him what His will is concerning that thing. Again, He can either speak to you through His still small voice or direct you to His word in the bible.
CONCLUSION:
You will find that you are not going to get through the day peacefully if you don’t spend time with God in the morning or acknowledge Him throughout the day or even put Him firs in everything. We simply cannot get through the day without the grace of God.
Don’t just visit God to seek His will only once a week on Sundays at church. If you dwell in His presence everyday by spending intentional time with Him, you will live in the consciousness of His presence everyday. This will enable you to always reverence Him and acknowledge Him in all you do.
So I encourage you today, allow God to be your everything, your treasure, your priority, your source, your Shepherd.
PRAYER:
Dear God, thank You for Your Grace and Your overwhelming love over my life. Thank You for caring for me and about everything little details of my life. I realise that You desire to spend quality time with me even more than I can ever desire. I thank You that as I delight in You, You will give me the desires of my heart (which is to do Your will today). So Father, I pray that You grant me the grace to always seek You first thing in the morning as I awake; to always acknowledge you in all that I do and say; and to prioritise You in everything that I do. You are my treasure, my priority, my everything, my source and the strength of my life and I long to know You more, thank You God, in Jesus name. Amen.
